I am a textilles and accessories designer/manufacturer with over 30 years experience in the design sector. I work in many different materials and collaborate with designers across the Globe to create accessories for their collections. I have won a number of awards from the Barbados Investment and Development Corporations for my accessory collections. My work was shown at Buckingham Palace in 2018 as a part of the launch of the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange, an initiative created to pair creatives in the Commonwealth for the development of symbiotic relationships and business opportunities for members. I collaborated with a designer from the Bahamas to create the look for that event. Of the fifty-three artisans and designers from across the Commonwealth at that event, I was one of eight artists selected by Swarovski for sponsorship. I attended training at the New York Times acclaimed Artisan Leadership Summit in November 2018, in New York City under the auspices of Swarovski. I subsequently became a member of The Nest Guild, an international artisan group whose mandate is the development of the global hand-worker economy and the host of the training event. My brand has since become know on the international stage and I am currently working on the development of my online store. I am also one of three members representing Caricom in The Regional Network of Artisans in Tourism for the Greater Caribbean or RED, whose members include all of the countries in and bordering the Caribbean Sea. The Network was formed in 2014 to trace artisans working in the region and seeks to find mechanisms to address the issues negatively affecting the sector and to find and share solutions.
