The 15th installment of the Belize Archaeology Symposium (BAS) is scheduled for June 28 ‐ 30, 2017 in San Ignacio, Cayo, Belize. The primary objective of the Belize Archaeology Symposium is to disseminate current archaeological information to the people of Belize, the tourism industry and the general archaeological and anthropological community. It is envisioned that the conference will provide an interdisciplinary arena that will allow students, staff, faculty and practitioners to discuss and exchange ideas about the latest developments in the field.
All presentations for the Symposium will be held inside the San Ignacio Resort Hotel’s Bedran Hall with presentations starting on Wednesday June 28th, 2017 and continuing through to Friday June 30th, 2017. Each 20 minute presentation is followed by a 10 minute discussion segment.
Archaeology presentations will be made on one of the following topics:
- The Origin of Ancient Maya Lifeways and Society: Preclassic and Early Classic Developments
- Archaeology in Belize: Research Investigation Results
BAS 2017 REGISTRATION FEES:
Registration will be held each morning of the Symposium starting at 7:30 am. Belizean Attendees: BZD $10.00 per day Foreign Attendees: BZD $20.00 per day Belizean Students enter FREE with valid student ID.
Lectures start daily at 8:30 am. Coffee break included in Registration Fee. Lunch on your own.
