The British Library is home to one of the world’s greatest collections of books, manuscripts, journals, newspapers, maps, philatelic material and sound recordings relating to North and South America and the greater Caribbean. Covering English, Spanish, French and Portuguese as well as many indigenous languages, the collections span from European conquest and colonisation to the present day. These collections are continually being added to with new publications and new acquisitions.
At this event you will learn about the extraordinary scope of our Americas collections, in manuscript, print, microform, recorded and digital formats. These events are aimed at first year PhD students who are new to the Library and are designed to explain the practicalities of using the Library and its services plus help you navigate our physical and online collections.
