From the dawn of time to modern times children of the Caribbean congregate in several games that originated in places such as Africa, India and Europe. Hopscotch, Marbles, Snakes and Ladder, Hoop & Stick, Warri, Cricket, Jacks, Rounders, spinning tops, Go-carts, Rag Dolls, and a variety of string games are among the games and toys used by our ancestors. Many of these traditional games and toys have now all but disappeared due to increased prosperity and the advent of technology.
Today when the word “game” is used by most children it means some form of technological game. Regardless of whether you play these old or new games, everyone enjoys playing games! They are an integral part of our culture and an important thread in our social fabric.
We are looking forward to seeing you soon and donations are welcome!
