This hands-on workshop will introduce participants to the benefits of digitizing their heritage inventories using Arches, the open source data management platform developed by the Getty Conservation Institute and World Monuments Fund. Learn how to use Arches’ GIS tools to quickly and accurately map your heritage assets. Discover how the software extends your inventory from a management tool to a platform for public education and interpretation. Explore how its new mobile app offers exciting possibilities for documenting condition assessments in the field and engaging citizens in local stewardship of heritage sites. Participants must bring their own laptop (please have the Google Chrome web browser installed).
